Send a test event to Pinterest Conversions API
Pinterest CAPI is keyed by the ad account ID, not by a tag ID. Enter the ad account ID and a conversion access token, choose events and send them to API v5. Test mode adds test=true, a sandbox whose data Pinterest keeps out of reporting and optimisation.

What does Way2 Pixel send to Pinterest?
Way2 Pixel (Pixel Activator) posts to api.pinterest.com/v5/ad_accounts/{ad_account_id}/events, adding ?test=true when Test mode is on. The conversion token is sent as Authorization: Bearer for this call and is not stored by our server.
Pinterest event names are lowercase with underscores, such as page_visit, add_to_cart or checkout; a custom event is sent as event_name custom.

Events marked $1 are sent with an amount of 1 USD. You can also add one custom event name: letters, digits and underscore, up to 50 characters.
How does Pinterest test mode work?
Pinterest switches to a sandbox with the query parameter test=true. Ticking Test mode adds it; the events are checked and shown as test events, but Pinterest does not use them for reporting or optimisation.
Pinterest processes only the first twenty events of a test batch. This form sends at most five, so the limit never applies here.
How do I see the result in Pinterest?
- A 200 or 201 response without error fields means Pinterest accepted the events.
- Open Pinterest Ads Manager for the same ad account.
- Go to Conversions > Test events to see sandbox events, or the conversions overview for live ones.
- Fix any event-name or parameter warning before sending production traffic.
Where are the ad account ID and conversion token?
In Pinterest Ads Manager open Ad Account Overview > Conversions > Conversions API > Set up API, choose Conversion access token and generate one. The ad account ID is shown on the same screen. Avoid a personal OAuth token without the right scopes.
